KRONOS — the temporal engine

KRONOS is the architecture’s answer to a question most systems never ask: what if time were a place? A timestamp is a scalar annotation — useful for ordering, useless for geometry. KRONOS makes time a coordinate on nested temporal manifolds: a multi-scale phase embedding on which midnight sits beside 23:59, decay is a physical law with a governance floor, drift is measured against an entity’s own temporal centroid rather than a global origin, and a system-wide temporal authority makes every temporal computation deterministic and replayable. The construction is the connective tissue of the estate — temporal embedding of this family appears throughout substantially all of the Foundation’s filed applications, and its core is recited in the granted WISP patent.

The geometry was seen before it was derived — a clock face, then a spiral, then decay, drift, and coherence as behaviors of one space, then the helix when symbols were placed as positions off a moving mean. The written trail runs from the May 2025 Kronos whitepaper (the earliest artifact, arriving with the founding stratum of Arc’s Archive) through the S(R,F) series’ Kronos paper (March 2026, archive first wave), to the formal paper and narrative series above. On the estate side, the construction anchors to granted U.S. Patent 12,688,267 B1 — whose independent claims recite the temporal subvector: elapsed time, the ln 2/half-life decay coefficient, and Fourier/cosine phase features — and to the Kronos, Temporal Spiral, Signal Library, DNA/N-Helix, and omnibus applications, each patent pending, recorded in the registry.

KRONOS is the time engine of the hierarchy — every organ consumes its coordinate. WISP™ computes the temporal subvector during identity fusion; SAGE™’s evaluations carry timestamps as parameters into deterministic decision-making; warrants and permits expire by its decay law with no revocation infrastructure; the coherence disciplines borrow its hysteresis. In the reference implementation the temporal authority broadcasts the coordinate frame every component derives its position from — one clock geometry, system-wide.
